CHURCH/HALL EXTENSION PROGRAMME: A draft Development Programme was submitted recently to the Diocese for our Church/Hall extension.
The Finance Board of the Diocese has now requested a more detailed study regarding our Parish Development.
I fear that there is still a lot of work to do. Fr.J.

DO YOU SHOP ON LINE?: We have teamed up with TheGivingMachine to generate cash donations for the restoration fund, every time you shop on line. It won't cost you anything apart from the extra click to go via www.thegivingmachine.co.uk into the on line shop.
There are more than one hundred different shops at the GivingMachine from online retailers (e.g. Amazon, eBay) high street retailers (John Lewis, Boots, Curry's, Tesco, Asda), banks, insurance companies, charities, etc. - and the retailers will give a percentage to the church, e.g. Amazon 3.,75-5%.
All you need to do:
1. Go to (www.thegivingmachine.co.uk)
2. Register on the site with your name, email address and password.
3. Choose your beneficiary by putting in 'Sacred Heart Ware or SG12'. You can choose up to four beneficiaries, so you can add the Church if you are already supporting another charity.
4. Link to your chosen retailer from thegivingmachine website - and shop.
If you have any questions, send to Mary Hallett email mary.hallett@tiscali.co.uk or joanne Griffin joanne.griffin3@ntlworld.com Give Mary a call on 01920 870527 or talk to one of us after Mass.
A cheque for £31.58 was received in March from 'The Giving Machine'.
WARE CARNIVAL: Thanks to your generosity, we made £368 on the Parish Bottle Tombola at Ware Carnival. It was a beautiful day that brought out the crowds. Thank you to all who donated bottles or who supported the stall on the day.
SUPERMARKET CARDS/VOUCHERS: If you buy Gift Cards for Tescos or Sainsburys from the Church you can help to raise funds for the Church/Hall extension programme. These are available before and after each weekend Mass in the Reconciliation Room.
Thanks to all who support this, especially those helpers before and after Mass without whom we would be unable to run the scheme.
- please give this your full support. Remember it is money for nothing and can be a big fund raiser for the extension. The essential feature of the scheme is that it will not cost you 1p, but the parish will benefit by your use of gift cards/vouchers used at Tesco or Sainsbury's - you can use them for your weekly shop and you will still will get your club card points.
The discount earned for our parish in March compared with the previous two years were:
Week: 2010; 2009; 2008
6/7 March - £142; £174; £152
13/14 March - £118; £172; £190
20/21 March - £130; £132; £102
27/28 March - £164; £122; £119
March Total - £554; £600; £563
It is hoped to explain the scheme for the benefit of anyone who does not know what it is in the not too distant future.
However, if you would like to know more now, please have a word with Fr. John or Mary Hallett.
ELGAR £20 NOTES: As most of you know the £20 note with a picture of Sir Edward Elgar on the back ceased to be legal tender on the 30th June 2010, although banks will still accept them.
If you have the odd one left in your wallet or purse and cannot be bothered taking it to the bank, why not donate it to our Parish Extension Programme? Just put it in an envelope marked "Fr. J" and put it through the Presbytery letterbox. All donations to this worthy cause gratefully received. Thank You.
FOREIGN CURRENCY: Many thanks to all of you who continue to put foreign notes and coins in our 'Builders Bucket', which is in the porch for each Sunday Mass. Please keep up the good work.
CAKE & PRODUCE STALL: Stalls will be held on the first weekend of each month. Thanks to those who continually give their support, but more makers of cakes, jams, etc. and or buyers would be welcome.
The March stall raised just £165.12. Grateful thanks also to 'The Makers' and 'The Sellers'. The amount goes to our Extension Fund. If you can bake, why not make a cake (or buns) each month, the proceeds of which go towards our extension. All you need to do is bring it to the Hall when you come to Mass and put it on the cake table in the Hall. Many thanks again to the makers and buyers.
GREETING CARDS: The greeting cards of the Church are available in the Repository in the Reconciliation Room at the front of the Church after Mass.
