HOW TO GET HERE
Located in the small Hertfordshire market town of Ware, Sacred Heart Church is easily accessible to visitors who may be visiting us from further afield. Ware has good road and rail links that make getting here anything but a trial.

Coming by Road?
The primary road of access for getting to Ware is the A10 that links London with Cambridge, and also intersects with the M25 and M11.

If travelling from the north, exit the A10 at the A1170 junction that will be signposted for Ware, Thundridge and Wadesmill and will be the first junction for the town travelling southbound. Follow the A1170 into Ware, passing Wodson Park sports centre until you reach the roundabout by the fire station.
Continue straight on at the roundabout into Ware town centre (still the A1170), and follow Baldock Street until it becomes the High Street. You will pass St. Mary's church on your left, and Ware library on your right as you continue down into the town centre.
Keep on the lookout for a pub called The Vine, which will be on your left on the corner of New Road and the High Street, shortly before a set of traffic lights that precede a mini-roundabout. You will need to turn left into New Road here. A mere 300 metres up New Road, having passed Christ Church on the right, will be a right turn for King Edward's Road at which point the church should be visible. The church car park is located at the far end of the church on King Edward's Road.

Coming from the south, exit the A10 at the Ware south junction, which will also be signposted for Harlow. Here, follow the signs for Ware A1170, which will lead you through Great Amwell passing Van Hague's Garden Centre on the left. As you approach Ware, there will be a mini-roundabout outside the John Gilpin pub, where you need to bear right continuing to follow the A1170 over the railway.
As you follow the road around into Ware, crossing the River Lea, you will come to a mini-roundabout outside the Waterfront pub. Bear left here into the High Street, and immediately after the traffic lights, turn right into New Road. As the instructions state above, the turning for King Edward's Road is approximately 300m along New Road on the right.

Coming by Rail?
Ware is served by one railway, on the Hertford East branch that runs services into Liverpool Street and Stratford. If coming from Cambridge, you will need to switch trains at Broxbourne.

Upon arrival at Ware station, exit the station and turn left down Station Road. At the end of the road, turn right into Amwell End, and you should see a bridge ahead of you that crosses the River Lea. Continue towards the bridge and cross it on the left-hand side of the road.
Continue along into the High Street, but cross at the first traffic lights outside Martin's newsagents, and turn right into New Road. You will need to continue up New Road, crossing Kibes Lane and Hanbury Close en-route to King Edward's Road. The church entrance is literally on the corner of King Edward's Road and New Road.
The walk from the station will take about 15-20 minutes.
